On Tuesday August 5th, Bergen's Promise participated in National Night Out in nine Bergen County towns. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign designed to enhance relationships between neighbors and law enforcement, fostering a sense of community and promoting safer neighborhoods. We were happy to have team members at the following towns: Hackensack, Paramus, Garfield, Elmwood Park, New Milford, Teaneck, Little Ferry, Lyndhurst, and Fair Lawn.
By participating in this event we were able to engage with police, mayors, council members, and state politicians (that included Assemblywoman Lisa Swain, Assemblyman Chris Tully, and governor candidate Jack Ciattarelli). We also connected with residents, churches, food pantries, and Boy & Girl Scout troops to deepen local relationships and visibility. We are excited about the opportunity and solid foundation for future partnerships that National Night Out was able to create.
