We are a rapidly growing, mission driven, non-profit social service agency.     Bergen's Promise serves youth up to age 21 and their families. The youth we serve are experiencing serious behavioral, emotional, mental health, substance use challenges and/or developmental disabilities.

IMPORTANT NOTE - Bergen's Promise academic year internships are unpaid.
We are a participating employer in the NJ Career Accelerator Internship Program and the Rutgers Summer Service Internship Program which enable us to offer up to 4 paid summer internships through these programs and departments only. This is based on our acceptance into each program each summer. It also requires students to contact those programs in advance to see if they meet the eligibility criteria for each.

    Part-Time | This is an unpaid position

    This internship is designed for junior and senior students majoring in Accounting or Finance. The intern will assist with processing invoices, reconciling accounts, tracking and reporting cash and credit card usage, and completing special projects assigned by the Controller. The intern will also develop positive interpersonal skills, adhere to company policies, and deepen their understanding of their academic knowledge through practical application.

    The majority of the Intern’s time will have direct access with employees and helps to support their daily activities which in turn help the Care Managers interact with families served. For more specialized majors (ie. Software development, cybersecurity) tasks will be assigned to improve Bergen’s Promise’s processes and procedures as needed.

    This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing within a nonprofit. Interns will gain an understanding of the different ways to promote services to families and keep them informed of important information in a dynamic way. Tasks will include creating compelling content for outreach events, social media, emails, promotional materials, and other marketing campaigns. Other opportunities will include fundraising and video editing.     Part-Time | This is an unpaid position

    Bergen's Promise is the designated Care Management Organization (CMO) for Bergen County, New Jersey. We serve youth ages 5 to 21, with serious behavioral health challenges, substance abuse issues and developmental disabilities. Youth with chronic co-occurring behavioral and specific medical health issues will also be served through an enhanced medical care coordination component, the Behavioral Health Home (BHH). The goal of BHH is the joint coordination of health promotion with behavioral health care management. Public health interns will work within the BHH department to help realize this goal.
