Bergen's Promise Successfully Hosts Inaugural Legislative Breakfast

Tuesday, May 7, 2024

On May 3rd, Bergen’s Promise hosted our Inaugural Legislative Breakfast at Biaggio’s Restaurant and Banquet Hall in Paramus. We are incredibly grateful to all those that attended this event in support of Bergen’s Promise and continue to support collaboration for helping youth and families.

The program was moderated by our Bergen’s Promise Chief Executive Officer, Dean Pastras. We had opening remarks from Deborah Visconi, President and CEO at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center as well as other dignitaries in attendance. Our Keynote Speaker, Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (District 35), also delivered a very inspiring speech, voicing her support of mental health and services like Bergen’s Promise.

Finally, we were thankful to have a positive story family in attendance. They spoke about the impact Bergen’s Promise had on their life as well as the lives of other families. The capstone to this segment was a beautiful rendition of “The Greatest Love of All” sung by Alexander, our Bergen’s Promise youth.

We were pleased to have a variety of representation across Bergen County. Among the nearly 250 people in attendance were Senator Holly Schepisi, Assemblyman Dr. John Azzariti, Bergen County Sheriff Anthony Cureton, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, and Bergen County Commissioner Mary Amoroso.

We are also thankful to the many co-sponsors of this event. None of this would have been possible without their support. Many of them have already been collaborating with us in support of Bergen County youth and families long before this event.

With such a successful event, we are excited for this event next year! Didn’t get a chance to attend this year or already looking forward to coming back? Mark your calendars, our next Legislative Breakfast will be taking place May 2, 2025.
