Bergen's Promise at Dumont High School "Focus on Success" Wellness Fair

Tuesday, January 28, 2020

Bergen's Promise had an exhibit table at this year's Dumont High School "Focus on Success" Wellness Fair. We have been at this growing event over the past few years and this year's theme was Fostering Success. We are happy to participate in informing students and staff about the way Bergen's Promise can contribute to overall wellness.

Pictured is Angeline one of Bergen’s Promise Health & Wellness Educators along with Maria, an intern from William Paterson University’s Public Health Department. They engaged students on the importance of being mindful of their digital footprint through social media use and how it can impact their success when applying to colleges and for jobs.

For Maria, a Public Health major from William Paterson University who is currently doing an internship with our Behavioral Health Home team, this washer first community outreach as a new intern with Bergen’s Promise. It was a unique opportunity for her:

“As an intern from William Paterson, I enjoyed interacting with the high school students about positive choices. It was a great experience to be able to educate them and see their reactions,” shared Maria.

Schools can invite Bergen’s Promise to present to their students, parents, and/or staff on the NJ Children’s System of Care, the BergenResourceNet.org as well as any topic related to the emotional health and wellbeing of students across the age continuum.

Bergen’s Promise provides internship opportunities throughout the year. Internship applications are accepted from March 1 through June 30 for the following academic year.
