Bergen’s Promise recently launched an internal committee devoted to meeting the needs of our youth living with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities and their families. Monthly meetings, staff trainings and consultation with our Wraparound Coaches continue to strengthen fidelity to our Wraparound approach to care, as well as strengthen our staff’s ability to support our youth.
A recent focus of the committee has been to raise family awareness of resources available to promote a safe and fun summer. Are you looking for camps with special needs programming and supports? Here are some options:
- Summer camps provided through the NJ Children’s System of Care - For youth determined eligible for developmental disability services, services may include financial support toward summer camp tuition and 1-1 aide services for summer camp.
- Bergen Resourcenet – The online resource directory of Bergen County offers many options for local summer camps. Search using phrase ‘Summer Camps’ and review the options for programming for children with special needs.
