Bergen’s Promise is proud to announce the Bergen County Annual Legislative Breakfast, taking place on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Biagio’s Restaurant & Banquet Hall in Paramus, NJ.
This year’s breakfast highlights the importance of collaboration among policymakers, service providers, community leaders, and advocates to strengthen mental health supports for young people across Bergen County.
Featured Speakers: Chris & Martha Thomas
The 2026 Legislative Breakfast will feature Chris and Martha Thomas, Co-Founders of The Defensive Line, as keynote speakers. The Defensive Line was co-founded by the Thomases alongside their son, Solomon Thomas, Defensive Lineman for the Dallas Cowboys.
The organization honors the legacy of their late daughter, Ella, by advancing youth suicide prevention through improved mental health communication—particularly focused on young people of color. Their powerful story and ongoing advocacy underscore the urgent need for open dialogue, awareness, and action around youth mental health.
Bringing Leaders Together for Impact
The Annual Legislative Breakfast serves as a vital forum for elected officials, community partners, and stakeholders to come together, share insights, and reaffirm a collective commitment to improving mental health outcomes for children and families. Through conversation and collaboration, Bergen’s Promise continues to champion policies and practices that promote prevention, access, and equity in care.
