Bergen’s Promise was happy to participate with students at the Dumont Middle School Wellness Fair that was held on February 18th and March 2nd. This was a great event for students to learn about all the wellness opportunities available in their community. A special thanks to our representatives at the event: Nikki Rogers, Nuha Kased-Hamoudeh, George Cabascango, Deljinder Mavi, Shelisa Foster, and Cindy Castaneda. Dumont High School for once again hosting a terrific event to promote emotional well-being for students.
The Bergen's Promise team members facilitated an interactive activity called “It’s the Positivity for Me” This activity asked students to grab a post-it note and write something positive if they’ve ever felt negative to support social emotional learning concepts through situations relevant to teens. They would then stick it to a mirror to see that positivity in themselves.
Bergen’s Promise is always willing to attend school wellness fairs to promote emotional wellbeing. We provide in-services for district staff regarding the services of the NJ Children’s System of Care, the Bergen ResourceNet.
